How often do we miss Jesus?
‘I tell you the truth, just as you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me.’
Too often I think we spend our time with less meaningful matters. Jesus tells us that our judgment will be according to how we have interacted with him in the other.
So many of us spend the majority of our time chasing God in going to conferences and church meetings, by reading scriptures, by prayer and fasting; by listening to the prophets, by listening to podcasts, by listening to the inner voice. And all along he is on the street corner holding out a cup for a fraction our abundant spare change.
Sure, we know his voice, but we do not recognize his face.
While they were talking and debating these things, Jesus himself approached and began to accompany them but their eyes were kept from recognizing him).
When [Mary of Magdala] had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus.
When it was already very early morning, Jesus stood on the beach, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
How often is the Resurrected Christ in our midst and we do not recognize him?
